Rachmaninov Competition is one of the oldest Russian Musical Competitions, the First All-Union Rachmaninov Competition was held in 1982 in the Moscow Conservatoire, since 1993 it is an international.

Among its winners were famous pianists like Nikolai Lugansky, Andrei Pisarev, Olga Pushechnikova, Ilia Itin etc.

Members of its juries were G.Cherni-Stefanska (Poland), S.Aronovsky (UK), J.Mounier (France), D.Pollac (USA), J.Norris (UK), A.Garaufalis (Greece), Roland de Munck (Belgium), A.Jenner (Austria), Lee Kum Sing (Kanada), M.Georgiu (Romania), V.Gornostaeva (Russia), V.Merzhanov (Russia), S.Dorensky (Russia), Yu. Slesarev ( Russia ), V.Tropp ( Russia ) and others.
